Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

Principal Teacher of the Festival

Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong has been a disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for nearly 40 years and holds the lineages of his blessings in her heart.

She is recognised as a fully qualified Teacher of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular is qualified to bestow the blessings of the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini.

She is an inspiring example of a modern Kadampa disciple who relies sincerely upon her Spiritual Guide in all her actions. Gen-la is greatly respected for the power and sincerity of her teachings and the warmth of her personality.

She is the Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC, the mother Centre of modern Kadampa Buddhism, and the General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU. In addition to her responsibilities at Manjushri KMC, she teaches extensively at major events around the world.


Gen Kelsang Chodor

Gen Kelsang Chodor is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada. He has been ordained and has studied under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than twenty-two years.

He is admired by students because of his practical knowledge, warm presentations and authentic teachings, as well as his natural joy and sense of humour. He is skilled at putting everyone at ease and helping them solve their problems and anxieties with practical Dharma advice.

During the Canadian Festival, he will be guiding the Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning meditations.


Gen Kelsang Chögyan

Gen Kelsang Chögyan is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Montréal. She has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years.

She constantly encourages us through her sincere example, her deep faith and her great ability to transform all situations into opportunities to progress along the spiritual path. Her joy, energy and enthusiasm inspire us to put Buddha’s teachings into practice and experience their many benefits in our daily life.

During the Canadian Festival, she will be guiding the Retreat on Monday and Tuesday.
