Teachers at the Ontario Dharma Celebration
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition & acting National Spiritual Director of Canada. She has been studying under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over thirty years. Gen-la has dedicated her life to helping others by promoting modern Buddhism throughout the world. She is well loved by thousands of students for her ability to touch their hearts by showing how Buddha’s teachings are relevant to their lives today.
Gen Kelsang Chögyan is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada (KMCC). She has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for many years, under the guidance of her teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Gen Chögyan presents Buddha’s teachings in a practical and accessible way for everyone to apply this profound wisdom in their daily life. Through her sincere example, she inspires many students to apply joyful effort in their practice of Dharma. Gen Chögyan will be teaching the Introduction to this year’s celebration.
Kelsang Zopa, a Canadian Buddhist monk, is the Resident Teacher at Joyful Land Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Ottawa. He has studied extensively under Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and other leading New Kadampa teachers, and completed many meditation retreats. This weekend, Zopa will lead meditations on Saturday and Sunday morning.
