Teachers at the Ontario Dharma Celebration
Gen Jampa is an American monk and the NKT-IKBU US National Spiritual Director. He is known for his warmth, kindness and accessible teachings. Through his example, he shows us how to practically and joyfully integrate Buddha’s teachings into our daily lives. This year, Gen Jampa will grant the empowerment of Buddha Vajrapani and give inspiring teachings throughout the weekend.
Gen Kelsang Chögyan is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada (KMCC). She has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for many years, under the guidance of her teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Gen Chögyan presents Buddha’s teachings in a practical and accessible way for everyone to apply this profound wisdom in their daily life. Through her sincere example, she inspires many students to apply joyful effort in their practice of Dharma. Gen Chogyan will be teaching the Introduction to this year’s celebration.
Gen Kelsang Suma, a Canadian Buddhist nun, is the Resident Teacher at Jampa Ling Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Barrie. The mother of two grown sons, Gen Suma left a career in the sciences some 15 years ago to teach Kadampa Buddhism. She teaches with warmth and clarity. This weekend, Gen Suma will lead meditations on Saturday and Sunday morning.
